Since the end of 2010 I have had a loyal travel mascot called Charlie. He has travelled with me everywhere from Nicaragua to Uganda and even spent three weeks with me volunteering at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Unfortunately he didn’t join me in time to visit North Korea in 2010 or any of my trips before then but from now on whenever I travel wherever I go he will go.
Whenever I travel I never usually post updates from the road due to the nature of my trips but I have started posting Charlie updates on Instagram, either when I travel or shortly after I return, in order to bridge the gap between my travels and when I have a chance to type up my blog.

Where has Charlie visited?
In addition to a few locations around The UK, and the time volunteering with me at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Charlie has visited Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Holland, Honduras, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Spain, Thailand, The USA, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. He has also transited through airports in Panama, Russia and Rwanda but unfortunately didn’t go through passport control there.
