Making my way home from Marrakech
I’m back in London now after a long, but fairly smooth, travel day.
The day started in our hotel in Marrakech where, after a quick bite for breakfast, I made my way to the airport by taxi. I had pre-booked this the night before via the hotel reception and not only did this make it easy, but it was also cheaper than booking a transfer via Intrepid.
Marrakech airport was disorganised
After a short drive to the airport, I made my way to the check-in area. The queue was very short, but it took a while to be checked in. This was because not only were the people ahead of me in the queue very slow, but the person at the desk I was queued at decided to go on break as soon as it was my turn… meaning that I had to join the back of the queue for another desk to check-in, which was annoying.
Then, after checking in, there were no signs for the departure lounge and so I had to ask for directions. However, the airport staff were helpful and pointed me in the right direction.
The queue for security was long, but very efficient, and I was through security and into the departure lounge in no time.
Flying home with Royal Air Maroc
My journey back to London was with Royal Air Maroc, via Casablanca, where I had a 3 hour layover. Just enough time to stretch my legs and grab something to eat.
Both legs of my journey home went without incident, and I was really impressed with Royal Air Maroc. I had heard good things about them, and those things were definitely accurate. The seats were comfortable, there was plenty of leg room, the service on board was great, and the cabin crew were friendly. For a short-haul flight, that is more than enough!
I arrived back at London Heathrow tonight at around 6pm and, after collecting my bags, I had a quick coffee at Costa to boost my energy before making my way back home, via the office to pick up my laptop. I’m exhausted, so I’m going to sleep well tonight, and luckily I have one day to catch up on rest and life admin before going back to work on Monday.
